Want to see more of Sarasota than you can from the beach? Climb aboard the Siesta Funship and spend a few hours cruising the bay, checking out the islands, looking for dolphins and other local wildlife, and stopping to get in the water when the day calls for it.
This is a private boat trip for your group, not a crowded sightseeing cruise with a schedule to stick to. Bring up to six people, tell your captain what sounds fun, and let the day take shape from there.
Once you’re out on the bay, there’s plenty to look at. Cruise past waterfront homes, islands, mangroves, beaches, and stretches of open water around Sarasota and Siesta Key.
Depending on the conditions and what your group wants to do, your captain may take you around Siesta Key, Lido Key, Longboat Key, Big Pass, or other nearby spots.
Want to slow down and take in the views? Do it. Want to keep moving and see what you can find? That’s fine too. Since the boat is all yours, you don’t have to follow someone else’s itinerary.
You never know what you’ll see once you’re on the water.
Dolphins may cruise alongside the boat. Manatees can turn up in calmer areas. You might also spot pelicans, herons, ospreys, and other coastal wildlife along the way.
Nothing is guaranteed because we’re dealing with wild animals, but your captain knows the area and keeps an eye out while you enjoy the ride.
And wildlife isn’t the only reason to get out there. Depending on the day, you may find a sandbar, stop to look for shells and sand dollars, or find a quiet place to hang out in the water.
This isn’t the kind of sightseeing trip where everyone has to sit still and look out the window.
If conditions are right, your captain can plan a sandbar or beach stop where you can swim, float, paddleboard, or hang out. Want to use the slide? Go for it. Want to stretch out on the floating mat with a drink? That’s fine too.
If you find a good spot to stop and play, the Funship has you covered with a 10-foot slide, paddleboard, floating mat, floats, water toys, and plenty of shaded seating. Bring a playlist, too. There’s a Bluetooth speaker onboard.
Your private charter includes:
Bring your towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, snacks, drinks, and whatever else you want for your day on the water. Adult beverages are welcome.
There’s no bathroom onboard, so plan ahead. Your captain can point you toward nearby restroom options when needed.
You may see a variety of local marine life, including dolphins, manatees, and coastal birds, as well as waterfront homes, islands, beaches, mangroves, sandbars, and other sights around Sarasota Bay and Siesta Key. Wildlife encounters aren’t guaranteed.
